Abraham Lincoln Poster

So what you might not know is that i'm branding a coffee house at the moment, the owner has asked me to produce a selection of 20-30 posters/photos that can be used as wall art.

I won't upload all the pieces of art on here but i will show you a few. This is one that didn't make the cut in the end. A quote from Abraham Lincoln, Im not sure which version i like yet though.

I used a style of texturing and layering that gives the ink a screen print effect.

why don't you let me know and i might end up selling a few.

P.S. THIS IS MY 100TH POST! BOOM!

oldboy

Browsing through IMBD i came across Spike lees new film oldboy. He will be remaking Chan-wook Parks 2003 masterpiece OLDBOY. A film what in my eyes is one of the greatest films ever made. I realise that Hollywood has obviously run out of ideas and feels the need to constantly remake ideas until all energy has been sucked out of them but why remake such greats that have only been made in our decade?

watch the trailer below.

Remaking this film is like remaking Shawshank Redemption or Disney remaking spirited away. I very rarely see world cinema remaking Hollywood films, the reason is because the rest of the work is still producing original ideas.

Mr lasseter giving some advice

I know ive been posting videos and videos and should post some work, but im waiting to get a fair amount done before i post anything up.... don't worry you'll get some treats soon! but while i wait, check this out. fantastic

Rise of the Guardians

I saw just saw this trailer and at first I didn't know what to think! when I saw the poster, with a large rabbit that looked to be low poly like a game character and the title of 'RISE OF THE GUARDIANS' which made me think of a very shabby prequel of legend of the guardians. therefore obviously I had to watch the trailer to see what studio would actually create such a film. As the trailer started my thoughts started to fade away, the CG is good quality and the film has nothing to do with owls that talk!
So other questions started to arise, Is this going to be a classic money making blockbuster or is this going to be a well thought out intricate film that leaves most dumbstruck? But when i saw Guillermo del Toros name as an executive producer i thought to myself for him to get involved it must be something, and then the trailer started to get interesting, away from the obvious and towards the original. certain aspects of the trailer reminded me of scenes from studio ghibli films, but don't get me wrong this is still far off from a CG Spirited away.
This film has the potential of being this years Christmas CGI hit, but i guess we will have to wait and find out

The future of Technology

I just saw this video of Microsofts projection of their technology by 2019. Absolutely fantastic stuff, and the way our technologies are advancing it seems like a pretty realistic projection.

blocked tyre lift

i still need to work on the hands but with something like this i leave it till the end of the blocking stage as i end up spending so much time moving them around trying to keep them in contact with the object.

still needs some work but slowly getting there.

Hop Farm Festival

Friday night i get a call from an old friend saying she has a spare free ticket to the hop farm festival. Packing my sleeping bag and a rucsack full of beers we train up to the festival. What an amazing weekend i must say, Absolutely brilliant music constantly.

I felt i had to show people some of the bands that blew my socks off!

The tallest man on earth, a Swedish musician that sounds like a modern day Dylan.

Jonquil, just pure entertainment.

Taj Mahal Trio, Taj Mahal is a living legend and it was amazing to see him play with such enthusiasm

To top all of the greatness i saw the might Bob Dylan play an hour and half set!
